Design program

The Tapestry Design program is basically a drawing environment, but with an emphasis on designing needlepoint and tapestry. It has tools for drawing, editing, choosing and manipulating colours, and file functions like saving, opening,
various modes of printing, and compiling orders.

Designs are built up as a composite of up to six sketches which can be overlaid, moved, and edited independently or together. Sketches can be hidden, and the drawing order can be changed. They can also be set into a tracing mode
to make it easier to draw a new sketch over the top.

Palette colours are derived from images of either Appletons or Anchor wools. Colours can be edited, moved, and deleted. Changes to the palette can be applied to the palette only, or to every occurrence in the design. Palettes can be saved as separate files, and imported into a new or existing design. The program keeps count of the number of stitches of each colour, the colour and
palette code of each stitch under the mouse.

The program can compile orders for up to 4 separate designs, giving wool name and code, the number of stitches and
skeins of each, as well as calculating the cost of the order.

The program will work on Windows-based computers only. It might be possible to run it on versions back to Windows XP,
but this is something I haven’t actually tried! Email me if you are interested.
