In general, a fourth dimension is said to be ‘Time’. Normally, to say where an object is, its position in space is defined by 3 dimensions -
This is fascinating, but is nothing to do with my tapestry work. In my 4D tapestries, I started by trying to invoke the collision, or passage, of objects in two different spatial systems. The idea was to have the objects occupying the same space, depicted in two different perspectives, and different light sources, with the shared space stitched in a different colour.
Similar ideas here, but I wanted an altogether cleaner and sharper result, so no more poorly defined space-
